Is your pump house ready for Winter?

The last two winters have been cold. In fact not just cold, exceptionally cold. One day last year our office was at -8 degrees Celsius at 2pm in the afternoon, with the coldest recorded level of -18 degrees Celsius one morning and a reading of -35 degrees Celsius over night. As with all water supplies last winter, private water supplies, both spring and borehole water, were affected by the cold weather conditions.

The main effect of the cold weather last year was that equipment in pump houses and in both above and underground water supply lines froze, leaving people without water and a call out charge to fix and defrost the equipment. NOW! is the time to act and think about your pump house and infrastructure before it gets any colder.

Pump houses can be insulated and pipework lagged to try and protect your valuable water supply during the winter – no one wants to be without water on Christmas day! We can help you do this and supply a suitable heater too. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
